Sgt. Legoman has arrived!

Postby Sgt. Legoman » Wed Feb 15, 2012 11:49 am

I've been on here for a while but never introduced myself. I might be wrong though.. Anyway I'm Sgt. Legoman, head of a small squad in the 16th Legoland Infantry Division currently fighting in Europe. I wont be posting pictures of my mocs as of now, due to our computer not allowing us to post pictures. =( My favorite weapon is the M1A1 Thompson, my favorite tank is the Hellcat, my favorite helicopter is a Bell Huey, my favorite era is WWII, and my favorite kind of dog is a German Shepherd. *Pant pant* And I like cake and cornbread, too. =P So here I am!

The type of computer you use shouldn't make a different in regards to sharing images online. See here for guides on how to share images and links to your images on this board.

It is kind of weird, but our family went with a cheaper computer and there isn't anything on the computer, anywhere, that would allow you to upload pictures. Thank you though, Badger. =)

Welcome to the forums! No computer has its own "uploading" tool, unless downloaded or have gotten as a program. You can use sites like..... Cubeupload, or Imageshack, to browse your computer for pictures, upload and easily use the URL code to post it on the forums. Hope this helped!

Thanks. I don't understand though why Badger and all my friends at Church say, "Well your computer doesn't matter. It's the software you use." Well, dog-gone, we can't download ALL the software. =P

It's nothing to do with downloading any programs; to share images online, you have to upload them to an image sharing website. Flickr is a good option as it is free, easy to use, and automatically resizes your images for easy embedding into posts.

Badger is definitely right. If you read my post, there are links to uploading sites aswell. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the type of computer. Seeing that your friends think the same thing, you should ask them to show you. :P

It should just be a matter of needing a digital camera and the necessary cable to get the pictures off of it. Other then that, everything you need to upload and share photos is the same software and hardware you use to jump onto the forums and comment.

Is it because you have no way to get the pictures off the camera, and onto the computer?

Yes, finally someone understood what I'm trying to say! =P If I'm correct you have to put the memory card into the tower, and we can't find anything you'd stick the memory card into.

Most cameras come with a USB cable that you can use to transfer images. I never use the included software, so I just connect my camera and access it as an attached drive. Otherwise, a card reader is usually pretty cheap (i.e. under $10 in most Wal-Marts) and will let you do the same thing.

Hope this helps.

As long as your computer has a USB port (which it has) you can purchase a cheap external memory card reader for under 15 dollars; you'll then be able to load your pictures from your camera's memory card onto your computer and then upload them online using one of the many different methods.

Okay, that makes a lot more sense. You made it sound like it was the problem from getting it from your computer, to the site. This is easy if your camera came with a USB cord, which will plug into the camera, AND your computer at the same time. If not, some laptops have the little memory card insertion place. Also, cords might be pretty cheap to buy.

Ok, now THAT makes more sense! If you'd be more clear about what the issue was in the beginning, I would have been able to be more helpful! However, the advice some members gave you above should solve this issue, and I'd encourage you to pursue them (particularly seeing if you already have the necessary USB cable!) to start sharing images!

MOD - With that issue solved, I'd ask members to focus their posts on welcoming Sgt. Legoman to the board

I agree I wasn't making any sense. I was pretty upset that I couldn't post pictures.
