VK Machine Antenna - Some Lack It?

I've seen some pictures of the VK Machine and some have had a little antenna and some have not. why is this?

Attaching the antenna to the VK Machine prototype actually requires a hole to be drilled into the side of the prototype. Some VK machines haven't had this modification, so chances are when they given out, the antenna wasn't included with them.
