Balaclava

Suggest anything a minifig can wear

Balaclava

Great for SWAT Team members, terrorists, and undercover soldiers! I'm thinking it would be made of a rubbery material and would fit over the stud on a minifig's head and would come in black, dark tan, and OD.

I really like this idea and would work well if there could be custom printed ones aswell

TLC already makes (made?) quite a few minifig heads with printed on balaclavas. I think something that would fit over the minifig's head would end up being bulky to the point of being more of a helmet, like the Batman masks.

I think we'd be better served just swapping out heads if you want to go between a minifigure wearing a a balaclava and not wearing one.

But what if you have a minifigure head with a balaclava that does not match the eyes/facial hair of the minifigure without the balaclava? And also, what if you're doing a brickfilm where a minifigure is seen taking off a balaclava - it won't make sense to take off their whole head, and then still have eyes peeking out of the balaclava once the un-balaclava'd head is put on.

I'm not sure, It wouldn't get as thin as you want. A printed head would work best in my opinion.

For me, these heads are a little tough to acquire.

All of the new SW troopers have a similar head under their masks. I got a couple with the Droid Sscape set, but it comes in a couple cheaper sets as well.

Sorry, but I think there wouldn't really be a point in one because
1: TLC has made tons of different design in tons if different colors.
2: EclipseGrafx, who works with G. I. Brick and designed Specter makes some already.
3: The new Stormtrooper faces look great and are in flesh, if that's what your looking for.
4: You could always paint one, that's what I do :)
5: As stated before, it would be too bulky if it was one that went on the head.
I still however, would like to see a decal for one on maybe a BLC figure or something like that :)

Couldn't you just use a lego ninja mask?

The printed heads are most-likely cheaper and look way better than a hard plastic hull over the minifigure head.

I want them to be made of RUBBER.

A decal might be good, but they would be hard to remove.

1. Can that fit on a minifigure head?
2. It can't be as thin as you want to be.
3. I think it wouldn't look right on every face.
4. It could be the same price as a printed balaclava on a head.

It doesn't have to be thin, I'm fine with something that's the same size as Batman's mask.

As much as I like the idea of balaclavas, a plastic or rubber toy version of this item would be limited to minifigs without headgear.

Combatants often wear various hats and helmets over such masks (e.g Boonie Hats, MCHs) and a balaclava would interfere with the use of the former.

A alternative would be to make balaclava variations with the top cut off to fit various helmets and hats, but given the dizzying array of LEGO (and third party) headgear, this is impractical.

Ultimately, I think that balaclavas are best left to minifig customisers making face decals.
