Large, detailed BA review.

Postby Cpt. Yogi » Sat Nov 19, 2011 4:52 pm

I just bought some Brickarms from Toywiz, to add to my other Brickarms, and now I have a decent amount. There may be a few things left out in MOC's or somewhere in a bin. I am really happy with what I got and so here's a review to see what you think.

Image
Here's the whole lot.

Image
And everything lain out.

Image
First is the M1 carbine. It's a great gun for military figures, and can be held in a lot of places.
Also the stahlhelm. It's a great German helmet. The only thing I don't like about it is it doesn't fit well w/ a backpack.

Image
Next the combat SMG. It's a great size but has tons of detail. The only place it's comfortably grip-able is the handle.

Image
Next the brown guns. The SMLE (left) is a nice gun, with quite a bit of detail.
The M1 garand (right) I think has a simpler, nicer design. They both don't have a great way to look like they are in action.

Image
The MG42 is very cool, w/ an ammo drum that come off, but cant attach to anything else. It works well for sci-fi w/o the drum.

Image
The C96 broomhandle mauser (front) work great w/ German officers, and has a lot of detail crammed in.
The auto-9 is also great, and is a nice large pistol.

Image
The M1919 is a great mounted gun, and it can go up, down, and side to side. It also has a removable ammo box.

Image
The bazooka is a great fairly simple weapon, ready to take down any enemy vehicle.

Image
The M21 sniper rifle has a ton of detail, but I find it too big for a minifig. Great gun nonetheless.

Image
I really like the lewis gun. It makes a great mount since it can be attached to the bottom piece of a LEGO lever.

Image
Next is the stealthy duo, with their small guns. The M23 SOCOM pistol is great for almost any scene.
The micro uzi SMG makes a great pistol for present to sci-fi MOCs.

Image
This SW500 magnum revolver is a great gun for past-present MOCs

Image
I really like the M41A Xeno Pulse Rifle; mainly since it's gold, and was a freebie.

Image
Although a Halo weapon, the MK2 grenade would make a great pineapple grenade too.

Image
The bi-pod is nice for military MOCs, but I love the mono-pod, and have already used it in many of my own MOCs including my 74-z speeder, and T-47 airspeeder.

Image
I got the combat LMG as a freebie. The gun is very nice, but not very useful in trans-blue.

Image
The white M1917 revolver was another freebie. It could work well for snow MOCs. The gun is nice and small, something I like about most BA pistols.

Image
The M2019 blaster can be nice for many different time periods.

Image
I got this in the mystery pack vol. 2. I really like the print but I'm not a fan of the paintball marker, since I have no use for it. I would've much rather gotten a blade.

Image
I pretty much got the spy carbine because I thought it would look great on Boba Fett. It's a great gun all around.

Image
Here are my Halo weapons. From left to right: BA-M5 Space Assault Rifle. I'm not a fan of this design, but also not a major Halo fan, but it's a nice gun in general; the high caliber sniper rifle is my favorite of these 3. It looks great on any futuristic figure; last the BA-M6 space magnum. It's a nice pistol that I use a lot.

Image
I wanted to get 1 chrome weapon, so I got the HSR, a weapon I really like w/ its unique shape.

Image
I also got a speckled cobalt tactical sword in the mystery pack vol. 2. This is a nice sword in a color that I think it can be useful in.
I also like the M84 stun grenade a a small grenade for SW.

Image
The dadao is a great Japanese sword that I thought looked good for a middle easterner.

Image
The rapier has been really useful as I've gotten into pirates fairly recently. It's a very accurate weapon, and has a sharp point at the end.

Image
I  the bayonets. They are attached with the useful U-clips. The bayonets are pointy and a great size, and fit on LEGO weapons. I got 6 of these for my redcoat army.

Image
In my Mystery pack vol. 2, I also got a speckled green minigun. The color is very nice, and I'm glad I didn't get something useless like a trans or brightly colored one. The minigun is great and has 5 parts which fit together nicely.

Image
I also got a bronze minigun separately. I added a custom ammo chain because I didn't want to spend $8 on one gun. The bronze is great and would make a great steam MOC.

Image
Here's some things I made with the U-clips, some BA, and some LEGO. I saw something similar to the trans blue, electro staff, so no credit to me for that  But the U-clips are very useful.

Image
a machete w/ my entry for the MCW contest category 1 on EB. The machete is very nice, and a good size for LEGO.

Image
My last weapon from the mystery pack was a red ray gun. I put it on my MCW contest category 2 alien on EB, Kalen Zupix. This is a great weapon. I actually like it in this color, and the design is great.

Image
Next is the damien blade. It's on a modified version of my Bronze destroyer. The sword is awesome. It's a great short sword for any medieval warrior.

Image
I also got 2 prototypes. The first is the M9 pistol. I  this weapon. It's one of my favorite modern guns, and BA's design is awesome.

Image
This is my favorite of everything. The sci-fi long rifle (SLR). It's a proto, and what prompted me to get this BA order. I really  this one. It's pretty much a DC-15, and IMO its the best of its kind ever made. I only have one but I hope it comes into mass production soon so I can get more.

What I think:
Quality- They are excellent quality, very crisp molds, and fit perfectly w/ LEGO. 9.5/10
Accuracy- All the guns show a great deal of care to the design to look good. 9/10
Price- They are a reasonable price, and definitely worth it. Protos are a bit expensive. 8.5/10
"coolnes" They are extreamly cool. I'm so glad I have them and they improve many of my MOCs. 9.5/10

Hope you enjoyed please C&C

This is a good review! You got some pretty good loot there. Halfway through, I stopped reading. Pretty pictures! Speaking of useless, bright, transparent Miniguns, I got three red, 2 blue and one trans-green. Whoda thunk it?

Cpt. Yogi this is a GREAT review!! You've got a great variety there too - from Aliens to Redcoats - that's extreme! But very well-photographed and great descriptions too. Thank you!

What did you use to make the ammo chain?
